Jazmyne Rees
Jazmyne Rees is sophomore at Grand Valley State University, majoring
in Behavioral Neuroscience on the pre-med track, with aspirations to
become a psychiatrist. Her passion is studying the relationship
between the mind and the body, and how that relationship can be used
to improve our understanding of medicine. Right now, she is currently
working on research with trait mindfulness and the connection it has
to improving health outcomes and reception of health information. True
to her passion for people, she holds community-oriented roles as a
tutor, Structured Learning Assistance student facilitator, and
Resident Assistant on campus. She also aims to improve the student
experience as president of Project Blue Heart (a kindness initiative).
Outside of her academics and professional pursuits, Jazmyne enjoys
eating good food, spending quality time with friends and family, and
watching amazing cinema. She is ecstatic to expand her leadership
skills at the Cook Leadership Academy and learn the various ways she
can serve her community!
