Paige Matusiak - Behavioral Neuroscience & Spanish
During her time as a CLA fellow, Paige has had the opportunity to
study abroad for a semester in both Bhubaneswar, India and Bilbao,
Spain. In line with her aspirations of becoming an international
neuroscience researcher, Paige recently returned from a life-changing
internship in Madrid, Spain, where she worked within Fundación Canis
Majoris' neuroscience research lab. There, she cared for induced
pluripotent stem cell and cancer cell cultures and was trained in
techniques regarding epigenetics, molecular biology, and biochemistry.
After her graduation in December 2018 with a degree in Behavioral
Neuroscience and Spanish, Paige will be returning to Madrid in January
2019 in order to fulfil a full-time job offer given to her by the
foundation. Paige will then start her Masters degree in Cognitive
Neuroscience in September of 2019. In the meantime, Paige will
continue to actively participate in an Alzheimer’s research lab within
GVSU’s Biomedical Science department. Additionally, she currently
holds the position as Secretary on the Neuroscience Club e-board.
Paige looks forward to earning her PhD in neurodegenerative science.

fluency and how this ability delays the behavioral onset of
