Description

NOTE: For the 2024-25 academic year, the Hauenstein Center will be sponsoring free copies of Open Minds Book Club books for currently enrolled GVSU students only.

Thank you for your interest in participating in the Open Minds Book Club!

For the September 2024 session of Open Minds, we will be reading and discussing The Life-Changing Science of Detecting Bullshit by John V. Petrocelli.

Expanding upon his viral TEDx Talk, psychology professor and social scientist John V. Petrocelli's The Life-Changing Science of Detecting Bullshit reveals the critical thinking habits you can develop to recognize and combat pervasive false information and delusional thinking that has become a common feature of everyday life.

The discussion for this book will be held on Wednesday, September 18, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. in the Richard M. DeVos Center’s Meijer Regency Room located on the GVSU Pew Campus.

For the first book of the year, free GVSU student copies will be shipped as registrations come in. Please register as soon as possible to ensure enough time to read the book before the discussion date.
