Please join the Hauenstein Center for Presidential Studies and the Gerald R. Ford Presidential Foundation, Museum, and Library as we welcome military historian and author, Ian Toll. On December 7, 1941, a date which will live in infamy, the United States of America was suddenly and deliberately attacked by the empire of Japan.” So began the address of President Franklin Delano Roosevelt to Congress.

Join author and independent scholar, Ian Toll, as he delves into the fateful day. Toll authored Pacific Crucible, The Conquering Tide, and Twilight of the Gods, a nonfiction trilogy about the Pacific War. Toll has been widely published in newspapers and magazines, including the New York Times, the Washington Post, the Los Angeles Times, and the Boston Globe.  His books on the Pacific War have been translated into Japanese, Chinese, and Dutch. Toll has spoken at venues and institutions throughout the United States, including the Pentagon, the U.S. Treasury Department, the National World War II Museum, and the U.S. Naval Academy.
