One of the cornerstones of a strong democracy is faith in its election process. For Michiganders, the upcoming election is arriving on the heels of a season of controversy and debate surrounding one of our most important institutions. The impacts of the election are widespread and diverse; while redistricting offers an opportunity for change, not all can agree on what that change should be. The electoral dimension of the economy also hangs in the balance, with the future of the state’s financial outlook uncertain. The Hauenstein Center and the Grand Valley State University Department of Political Science are excited to bring together a panel of experts from Grand Valley State University and the community to provide an analysis of the electoral landscape with a focus on our state races. Our panelists include Nancy Wang, executive director of Voters Not Politicians, Roger Moiles, affiliate professor of political science, and Justin Roebuck, Ottawa county clerk. This panel will be moderated by Grand Valley political science professor, Karen Zivi.

This event also appears on the main events calendar tagged as academic, alumni, hauenstein, political, and science.
