Charles Pazdernik, professor of Classics, was recognized for more than 25 years of service as a member of the Board of Directors of Telluride Association at its annual Convention in Ithaca, New York.
John Kilbourne, professor of movement science, wrote an article, “Making Meaningful Sense of Play,” published in PELinks4U.
Mary deYoung, professor of sociology, gave a keynote address, “A Physician, A Place, A Procedure, and a Patient,” for the opening of an exhibit, “Chasing the White Rabbit: An Historical Look at American Mental Illness,” at the Wood County Historical Center in Bowling Green, Ohio.
Mike Braid, part-time athletic training faculty member, received the Vonnie Boetsma Part-Time Teaching Award for 2013-2014 from the Movement Science Department.
The Agricultural Entrepreneurship in Michigan: Phase 2 project (Sproutlab) received a grant from the MIIE Talent, Innovation and Entrepreneurship Fund.
Paul Stansbie, chair of hospitality and tourism management, and Patricia Janes, associate professor of hospitality and tourism management, received a Partners in Conservation Award at the Natural Resources Commission meeting in Detroit.
John Weber, professor of geology, will be inducted as a Fellow in the Geological Society of America and will be recognized at the GSA Annual Meeting in British Columbia, Canada, in October.
