Posted on March 09, 2015

Stephanie Anne Urbanawiz, a graduate student majoring in physician assistant studies, died February 28 after battling breast cancer. She was 29.

Andrew Booth, assistant professor and chair of PAS, said Urbanawiz was a dedicated student, compassionate provider and an inspiration to her classmates and faculty members.

Urbanawiz graduated with honors from Central Michigan University with a degree in chemistry before enrolling in Grand Valley’s program.

Funeral services were held March 7 in Muskegon.

Urbanawiz’s family and the PAS program have established a scholarship fund in Urbanawiz’s name that will benefit Grand Valley’s Physician Assistant Studies department; click here to make a contribution.
