Grand Valley State University has been named a top public school among national universities by U.S. News and World Report.

In the "2020 Best Colleges" rankings, Grand Valley ranked fourth among Michigan's public universities in the National Universities category.

Grand Valley was also ranked for "Best Undergraduate Engineering Programs" (52nd) and as a 2020 Top Performer for Social Mobility for enrolling and graduating large proportions of disadvantaged students who were awarded Pell Grants.

Graduate programs that ranked among the best include Doctor of Nursing Practice, Master of Science in Nursing, Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, Physician Assistant Studies, Public Affairs Programs, Nonprofit Management, and Social Work.

After several years of being ranked in the regional Midwest category, Grand Valley was moved to and ranked in the National Universities category: colleges that offer a full range of undergraduate majors, plus master's and doctoral programs, and are committed to producing groundbreaking research.
