DPT Student Receives the APTA Minority Scholarship Award

Crystal Lamb has won the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) Minority Scholarship Award. She was nominated in January by faculty in the GVSU department of physical therapy. A third year student, she was described as a top academic performer in her class, and a "natural leader" in both the classroom, in clinical placements and within her position as the Michigan Physical Therapy Association Student Ambassador.  Crystal's commitment to serving diverse, underrepresented and underserved individuals in her profession has now been recognized through receiving the APTA Minority Scholarship Award.

The APTA Minority Scholarship Award is an annual award offered to minority physical therapy students by the Physical Therapy Fund, a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization supported by APTA. Award recipients must participate in minority affairs activities and services, demonstrate the potential for superior achievements in the physical therapy profession, excel academically, and exemplify professionalism as a future physical therapist or physical therapist assistant.

Congratulations to Crystal for her hard work throughout the rigorous DPT program and for winning such a prestigious award.
