Faculty Members receive GSA Awards

Multiple faculty members were awarded the Graduate Student Association Faculty Mentor and Outstanding Teaching Awards at the Fall 2019 Graduate Student Celebration.

The Faculty Mentor Award acknowledges faculty that go above and beyond to help graduate students transition from their studies to their individual careers. This includes advising graduate level research and promoting professional development opportunities.

  • Breanna Chycinski, Assistant Professor of Occupational Science and Therapy
  • Dr. Elizabeth MacQuillan, Assistant Professor of Clinical Dietetics

College of Liberal Arts and Sciences

  • Dr. Sheila Blackman, Professor of Biology/Cell and Molecular Biology
  • Dr. Melba Velez Ortiz, Associate Professor of Communications

The Outstanding Teaching Award recognizes faculty who deserve appreciation for their exceptional teaching. This includes using thoughtful and creative methods of instruction and engaging students in an inclusive manner.
