MSGC Graduate Fellowships Awarded to GVSU Students

The NASA Michigan Space Grant Consortium has awarded seven Grand Valley students their annual fellowship to carry our research projects through the Michigan Space Grant Consortium. All awardees will receive $5,000 to fund their research projects.

The awards for the 2020-21 academics school year are:

Michela Coury, graduate students in the Biology program researching turtles and amphibians, mentored by Jenn Moore.

Josh Arnold, graduate student in the Biology program researching mussels in streams, mentored by Eric Snyder.

Megan Mader, graduate student in Biology studying at the Annis Water Resource Institute researching costal connectivity and fishes, mentored by Carl Ruetz.

Emily Neuman, graduate student in Biology studying at the Annis Water Resource Institute researching the ecology of Starry Stonewart, mentored by Sarah Hamsher.

Randi Lesagonicz, graduate student in the Biology program researching detecting bugs in bat’s diet, mentored by Amy Russel.

Katheryn Sheets, graduate student in Biology studying at the Annis Water Resource Institute researching the ecology of sane mine lakes, mentored by Alan Steinman.

Jacob Brand, graduate student in the Biology program researching spatial genetics of white-tailed deer in Grand Haven area, mentored by Ali Locher.
