Financial Support for Health Informatics and Bioinformatics M.S.
Ways to finance your education:
You can find all kinds of Graduate Assistantships or Jobs at the LakerJobs website. You need to be accepted to the Medical and Bioinformatics Program in order to apply, i.e., you need a GVSU login or G-Number (see guide on the LakerJobs webpage). If you are asked for a reference, please contact your instructor or the program director, Dr. Guenter Tusch.
There are a limited number of graduate assistantships in the University. They are part-time, paid work experiences for graduates in their field of study, which allows them to expand and/or apply their discipline knowledge and skills under supervision. Tuition is also paid based on requirements of number of hours worked and course credits being taken per semester.
We expect our graduate assistants to be hard working and an example for other students. To be graduate assistant is a privilege that typically is earned by good grades and ethical behavior. This is not a stipend. You are expected to put in the work that is requested. A graduate assistantship can be terminated any time.
