Peter M. Perez
Peter Perez received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Yale University, served as an officer in the U.S. Navy, and after his honorable discharge, graduated with honors with a Master of Business Administration degree from Indiana University. Peter's career in manufacturing has spanned over 50 years and included serving as president of Steinway and Sons, the world famous piano manufacturer, and of C.G. Conn, manufacturers of band, orchestral, and keyboard instruments. From 2010 until the end of June 2012, Peter served as deputy assistant secretary for manufacturing in the Department of Commerce's International Trade Administration in Washington, DC. He currently is chairman of Carter Products, an 85-year-old, family-owned business in Grand Rapids, the vice chairman of Legacy Trust, and the president and CEO of the Grand Rapids Symphony Orchestra.
