The 2019 Grand Valley University Foundation Enrichment Dinner was a night to remember. The evening included a student-led toast to President Emeritus Tom and Marcia Haas, as well as honoring individuals who have supported Grand Valley from the beginning, Chick Blue, and Sylvia Kaufman, and her late husband Dick.
Arend D. Lubbers Award
Lynn M. Blue MPA ’86
Lynn “Chick” Blue, MPA ’86, has dedicated her life and her 50-year career at Grand Valley State University to enriching the lives of students. Chick goes well beyond her work responsibilities to personally care for students. She and her husband, Herb, are committed financial supporters of the university, most recently creating the Blue Working Family Endowed Scholarship.
Sylvia MBA ’83 & Richard⟡ Kaufman
Sylvia Kaufman, MBA ’83, and her late husband Dick, are international philanthropists who brought their passion for interfaith understanding to West Michigan and Grand Valley. Their years of dedication to education and interfaith dialogue continue to have a significant impact on the community.
Champions On and Off the Field
On Wednesday, June 19, Lakers gathered to celebrate the dedication of the Jamie Hosford Football Center. The renovation and expansion of the Hosford Football Center will allow the team to maintain our margin of excellence in athletics.
Start, Stay, and Succeed
Grand Valley State University’s first priority is our students. Gifts to the Laker Family Fund go directly to supporting them by providing access to student support services, internships, and career services to help them start, stay, and succeed at Grand Valley.
