GVSU Chalk Art Symposium Fall 2022 (5 Photos)

OURS hosted the first annual GVSU Chalk Art Symposium. The symposium featured the work of student researchers, scholars, and musicians through non-traditional means. OURS partnered with GVSU Alum and chalk artist, Emily Miller, who worked with students, faculty, and research teams to translate research from traditional posters and oral talks to the sidewalk.

Geography and Sustainable Planning was well represented with several pieces from GPY101 and 410. Kate Poynter's (GPY Major) project on pollinators habitat landscape patches on campus was excellent and the Climate Education Solutions Summit was well received. Most importantly, our students had fun painting together.

Thursday, September 29, 4:30 - 7:30 p.m. on the outside Mary Idema Pew Library, Northeast Plaza.

2022 Grand River Campus-to-Campus Cleanup (2 Photos)

As part of the annual Mayor’s Grand River Cleanup effort, Making Waves sponsored the second annual Grand River Campus-to-Campus River Cleanup September 18-24.  This year's event is completed, but we are already planning for next year!  We had over 100 volunteers and collected over a ton of garbage from the Grand River.

Thanks to all who contributed to this effort to make the Grand River more "Grand".
