Welcome to the Grand Valley State University teaching Community!

The primary aim of New Faculty Orientation is to orient you to the mission, vision, and values of GVSU and to provide you with an overview of services available to you as a faculty member, including resources to support your teaching.

The New Faculty Orientation experiences varies slightly depending on your faculty category.  Please refer to your New Faculty Orientation Registration Confirmation email for details about your specific orientation session.  If you have not already registered for New Faculty Orientation, you can do so by clicking the Register Here button to the right.

Two-Day Orientation

Held on both the Allendale and Robert C. Two Options!

Part-Time faculty have two different options open for new faculty orientation:

OPTION 1:  Attend University Orientation for All New Faculty

  • Two-day Face-to-Face Orientation
  • Wednesday, August 8th & Thursday, August 9th

 

OPTION 2:  Complete University New Part-Time Faculty ONLINE Orientation with Optional Drop-In Office Hours

  • Completely online--work at your own pace
  • Includes optional drop-in office hours to supplement the online content as needed

OPTION 2: University New Part-Time Faculty ONLINE Orientation with Optional Drop-In Office Hours

This online orientation focuses on information that is essential to your teaching at GVSU.  You will work through short video presentations and review linked resources at your own pace.  Drop-in office hours, reserved for new part-time faculty, will be available on both the Allendale and Robert C. Pew Campuses to supplement this online orientation format.  The session is designed to be efficient and to provide a framework upon which you can build.
