Description
The format of this workshop has been revised to accommodate university guidelines of no face-to-face contact during the Spring 2020 semester.
This workshop is designed to support faculty members preparing for any personnel review in 2020-21: pre-tenure, tenure, or promotion. Working with an assigned faculty mentor, participants will compose their Personal/Reflective Statement and as time permits, prepare other supporting materials for their portfolio in accordance with their college and unit personnel policies.
This multi-week writing-intensive workshop incorporates self-study, weekly phone or video meetings with your mentor, writing time, and optional weekly supplemental support/information sessions. Participants will receive individualized feedback on submitted drafts from their assigned faculty mentor throughout the workshop.
The workshop will NOT meet all day—participants will schedule a one hour block to meet synchronously with their mentors.
Participants are expected to:
- Devote one hour weekly to meet remotely with your assigned mentor (weekly meetings will begin week of May 11 and end week of June 8 and you will individually set this regular meeting time with your mentor);
- Read assigned materials;
- Set aside 4-5 hours per week to compose drafts and compile evidence for your portfolio; drafts will be submitted weekly for feedback culminating with a complete working draft of the personal statement by the end of the workshop.
For more information, contact Esther Billings ([email protected]).
Workshop Availability: 20 slots.
Due to the revised format this year, we are unable to accommodate faculty who do not have a personnel review in 20-21AY or who have participated in the workshop within the last year.
Workshop dates:
May 11- June 12, 2020
