Pew FTLC Summit: Toward a Just and Equitable Learning Environment

Date and Time

Wednesday, June 20, 2018 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM

Description

Faculty from all disciplines whose work touches on any of the areas below are invited to come together for an afternoon of collaborative and strategic conversation.

  • Civic learning
  • Community-based teaching
  • Inclusive and social justice education
  • Global learning

Recent critiques of Higher Education call for efforts to create learning environments that encourage inclusivity, civic action, community-based learning, global perspectives and work that crosses disciplinary boundaries.  This meeting is intended to explore current faculty efforts that are impactful and identify ways to come together across disciplinary boundaries to further integrate just and equitable teaching campus-wide.

Registration and lunch will begin at 12:45pm.  Summit will start at 1pm.  Register for the Summit in Sprout by June 14.

Immediately following the Summit, you are invited to join us for an informal Happy Hour at Founder's Brewery to celebrate the beginning of summer.  Drinks are at your personal expense.  Register for the Post-Summit Informal Happy Hour in Sprout by June 14.

Contact the Pew FTLC for more information.
