On January 5, 2018, we held our second university-wide event focused on assessment best practices at GVSU and sessions about how we can assess student learning efficiently and effectively. The theme of the conference was Program Assessment for Learning. Learn more... Assessment Conference 2018.

Course Design Series (Summer 2021)

We are offering a fresh type of course design institute this year. Spread out over the spring/summer, faculty can choose the topics that are of most interest. All sessions will be grounded in backward course design, evidence-based practices, and include an opportunity to hear from experts and to engage in discussion. 

This afternoon of hands-on workshop brings together faculty from across the university interested in data and digital approaches to teaching and scholarship. Learn more about Data and the Digital World Symposium.

In this series, the basics for developing a course with the online or hybrid designation will be discussed. Learn more about Foundations of Online/Hybrid Course Development.

We invite all faculty to consider enrollment in an innovative faculty development project. The purpose of this hybrid short course is to expand faculty knowledge regarding structural inequalities in the United States related to a number of topics. Access a video presentation or podcast and participate in a group discussion either online or in person, or both. The Online Learning Consortium (OLC) offers online workshops to members. The Pew FTLC offers a Sponsored Event Grant to support faculty enrollment in these workshops. Learn more about OLC Workshops and the Pew FTLC Sponsored Event Grant.
