Care Manager/Clinical Coordinator.

Melissa has been with the GVSU Family Health Center since January of 2021.  She has 12 years of experience working at a Family Birth Center where she also taught childbirth education along with perinatal and postnatal exercise classes. She has experience in home care, public health, case management, teaching, and working as a Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE).  Her favorite quote is, “They may forget your name, but they will never forget how you make them feel” (Maya Angelou) and these words are at the core of how she views the patient experience.  Melissa is passionate about helping people to reach their health goals and to live a happy and healthy life.

Melissa graduated Magna Cum Laude from Ferris State University with her BSN in 2012 and is a member of the International Association of Forensic Nurses.  She considers herself a lifelong learner and has participated in countless workshops and attended numerous conferences with the desire to provide the best care possible to her patients.

Outside of her work commitments, Melissa enjoys running, biking, hiking, reading, listening to pod casts, traveling, and most of all spending time with her family, friends, and three cats.
