DESCRIPTION:The March deadline application cycle is open for applicants whose in-person or virtual programs start between May 1 to April 30 of the following year.\n\n\n\nThis cycle encompasses programs during the following terms\:\n\n\n\n\n\n	Summer \n\n	Fall\n\n	Academic Year (upcoming)\n\n	Spring of the upcoming academic year\n\n\n\n\n\nThe U.S. Department of State&rsquo\;s Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship Program enables students of limited financial means (Pell recipients) to study or intern abroad\, providing awards of up to $5\,000 for study-abroad programs that are three-weeks or more in length. The program aims to encourage students to study and intern in a diverse array of countries or areas and world regions. The program also encourages students to study languages\, especially critical need languages (those deemed important to national security by adding a supplement of up to $3\,000 for intensive language study of designated critical need languages).
