DESCRIPTION:The Mentoring and Skills Development Training Program in One Health (MSDT-One Health) is a special career\n\ndevelopment opportunity targeting early career scientists (those who earned their PhD or terminal medical\n\ndegree within the last 10 years) and undergraduate students in STEM to participate in a year-long toxicology\n\ntraining and mentoring program to conduct transdisciplinary research at the intersection between toxicology\n\nand One Health. Funded by an NIH grant\, the goal of this program is to build a cadre of toxicologists and\n\nother scientists to comfortably conduct transdisciplinary research in One Health centered around the nexus\n\nbetween environmental toxicology and One Health.\n\n\n\nBenefits for participants\n\nFor Undergraduates\:\n\nV Knowledge and skills development to compete effectively for graduate school programs\n\nV Individualized guidance and support to foster career development in One Health and in toxicology\n\nV Building a supportive network of mentors and fellow mentees\n\nV Fully paid Participation in the Society of Environmental Toxicology and Chemistry&rsquo\;s (SETAC) annual\n\nconference\, including travel\, housing\, and registration.\n\nV Assistance with graduate school applications\n\n\n\nEligibility Requirements\n\n\n\n\n\n	Minimum cumulative GPS of 3.0\n\n	Completion of at least one semester of general biology and general chemistry\n\n	Enrolled in an accredited undergraduate institution at the time of application\, with continuing enrollment for the next academic year concurrent with participation in the MSDT-One Health program\n\n	US citizen or US permanent resident\n\n	 \n\n\n\n\n\nFor Early Career Scientists\:\n\nV Grant writing skills and development\n\nV 1-Week transdisciplinary research skills and knowledge training at UC Davis\n\nV Individualized guidance and support to foster career development in One Health and in toxicology\n\nV Building a supportive network of mentors and fellow mentees\n\nV Participation in the Society of Environmental Toxicology and Chemistry&rsquo\;s annual conference\, including\n\ntravel\, housing\, and registration.\n\n\n\nFor Mentors\:\n\nV Career advancement through leadership skill development\n\nV Networking with other mentors and professionals in toxicology and One Health\n\nV Increased visibility and recognition within the mentor&rsquo\;s place of work\n\nV Giving back to the next generation of toxicologists\n\nV Support NIH to increase the biomedical workforce
