How do I register for Family Weekend?
There's no need to register for Family Weekend unless you are purchasing tickets for a specific event.   

Can I purchase a Family Weekend t-shirt in advance?
No, the shirts are sold out. Those who have purchased may pick them up in the Office of Student Life (1110 Kirkhof) on Friday, September 21 after 3 p.m. or on Saturday. 

Check In

Do I need to check-in if I plan on attending an event during Family Weekend?
You only need to check-in if you have pre-ordered tickets or t-shirts, but be sure to check the website for ALL the events happening during Family Weekend!

Do I need to pay to be a part of Family Weekend?
No, while some events do require that you purchase a ticket, most of the events and activities are free and open to all GVSU students, faculty, staff and their families.


Where can I park?

Allendale Campus - Because it's a Game Day, please be aware of the following parking information: 

Lot B - closed until 4 p.m.

Lot D1 - D3 open from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m., $10 per car and they can enter from North entrance. From 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. the lots will be closed to spectators. There are no lots allowed in these lots.

Lot G - open till 12 p.m. for free, closed until 4 p.m., then becomes paid parking. 

Lot C, C West, and F - closed until 4 p.m., then becomes paid parking for $10. 

Lot E - Closed all day!

If you're arriving after 12 p.m., please park in Lot H or D4-D8!

Pew Campus - Parking is available on the GVSU Pew (Downtown) campus without a parking pass after 6 p.m. on Friday in Commuter (Red), Faculty (Blue), Visitor (Green). Please note, overnight parking is strictly prohibited in all lots except Pew Resident (Brown) lots, which require an appropriate parking pass from Pew Campus Security.  Additionally, the Seward Parking Ramp closes at 6 p.m, on Friday and is not open on Saturday or Sunday.

Parking in off-campus apartment complexes is subject to the individual apartment complexes' policies. We encourage you to contact the complex your student resides in for more information and to learn how to obtain a visitor parking pass.


What is the cost for the Club Sailing Golf Outing and what does the package include?
The cost is $65.00 per person and includes; 1 Greens Fees, Cart for one (will be placed with other golfers), 1 Laker Sailing T-Shirt, Goodie bag, 1 brat/hot dog + chips at the turn.

How can I pre-order football tickets?
Visit the GVSU football ticket website for information regarding football ticketing. For more football ticket information please visit the Laker Athletics website or call (616)331-3200.

All reserved seats are sold out. Your student will receive a free ticket that is only valid for the student section.

What do I do if I never received a confirmation e-mail when I registered for tickets?
If you did not receive a confirmation e-mail, please contact Laker Traditions.


Does a GVSU student need a ticket to paid events?
If you are planning on attending an event that requires a ticket, your student will also need a ticket.

Can I bring young children? 
Yes, this is an inclusive day! There will be several activities for all ages.

Can my family eat at the dining areas on campus?

Yes, you can mostly certainly eat on campus.
