This Pickleball Outing is a great way to support the GVSU Tennis Program, get some exercise, socialize, and compete for prizes! 

Teams will be grouped by level to compete in a round robin draw. Every level of player is welcome from beginner to advanced! New this year we have added a PRO division for $45 per person, prize money payout. PRO division is limited to 16 teams.

Franklin X-40 balls will be used.

Everyone will be guaranteed 4 games and there will be free drinks at the courts following play (Beer, Seltzer, Water, Gatorade).

You can sign up as an individual, or with a partner at a cost of $35 per person. Pro division cost is $45 per person and you must have a partner. 

All proceeds benefit the GVSU Men's & Women's Tennis program.

This is informational only.  No immediate action is required.  In the event of an actual weather emergency, members of the GVSU community should already be aware of safe areas on campus.  When the sirens sound, please make yourself aware of the closest designated tornado safety area.  Safety areas are identified on signs located in the interior hallways on the lowest floor of all buildings on campus.  For a complete list of safety locations visit: http://www.gvsu.edu/shelter

This monthly testing occurs on the first Friday of each month, April through October under the authority of the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office – Division of Emergency Management.

These auditions are for University Arts Chorale (SATB) only. Students can sign up for a 10-minute time slot on either day. The audition will involve a warm up to determine the student's range, a student performance (any art song you know - if you don't have one prepared you may sing America (My Country 'tis of Thee) in any key you prefer), and a brief sight reading exercise. Students should bring a copy of their musical selection (unless you're singing America).

But in 1776, nobody knew what would come of it, or whether the fight for independence would even be won. Join us for a conversation with historian Emily Sneff, author of the new book When the Declaration of Independence Was News, published for the 250th anniversary of the United States. Sneff has spent years researching how news of independence actually reached people, not only through the debates inside the Continental Congress, but through the work of printers, post riders, ship captains, town leaders, soldiers, clerks, preachers, diplomats, and translators who carried the news across the thirteen states and the wider Atlantic world.

The program will trace that same journey, from Philadelphia to cities like New York, Boston, and Charleston, and on to London, Paris, and beyond, showing how people both celebrated and pushed back against the Declaration as it reached them. It's a chance to revisit a familiar piece of American history from a new angle: as breaking news, experienced by real people in real time, before anyone could know how the story would turn out.
