Description

Beacon Hill at Eastgate will host a free screening of the documentary What is Philanthropy? on Saturday, October 13, at 2:00pm. The film, produced by GVSU Associate Professor Salvatore Alaimo, portrays and discusses the concept of giving within the American context through a critical lens and a variety of perspectives. WGVU's Shelley Irwin will moderate a panel discussion following the film featuring:

  • Michael Moody, Frey Foundation Chair for Family Philanthropy at the Johnson Center for Philanthropy, at Grand Valley State University
  • Stacy Stout, Assistant to the City Manager, City of Grand Rapids
  • Rick Baker, CEO of the Grand Rapids Chamber of Commerce
