Shifting the Discourse (Student Workshop). LIB 100 / 201 APPROVED!
Date and TimeWednesday, October 18, 2017
12:00 PM - 1:30 PM
- Kirkhof Center » RM 2259
An important part of the work of social justice education is learning to create spaces for people to listen to each other, express emotions (thoughts and feelings), and build connections. Too often we talk about the root causes of inequity that blames marginalized people for the challenges they face. These drop in sessions are about examining the ways in which we talk about issues. Moving beyond simplistic explanations for complex problems.
Co-Sponsored by The Social Justice Education program within the Division of Inclusion and Equity, and the Community Service Learning Center, the topic of discourse for this session will be the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals policy.
