LGBTQIA Faculty and Staff Benefits Open Dialogue Forum (Allendale)
Date and TimeMonday, September 30, 2019
4:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.
- Kirkhof Center » RM 2266
Do you need a safe space to ask questions before you make decisions about your benefits for next year? Have you had a tough time at work navigating conflict or problematic relationships?
Perhaps you might consider attending an upcoming open forum that is geared specifically for the queer community at Grand Valley. Through a partnership with the LGBTQ Faculty & Staff Association and Human Resources two specific opportunities will be available before open enrollment ends. Representatives from HR will give a short presentation and answer questions, including opportunities to ask questions anonymously.
It can be hard to make decisions in a political climate that is consistently changing. And it’s difficult to maneuver through relationships at work that are biased or hostile. Plus, finding an LGBTQ-friendly healthcare provider, including counseling, can feel like finding a needle in a haystack. And that’s why we have your back!
This is your chance to ask questions and speak your mind in a safe space. We want everyone to feel welcomed and supported at Grand Valley and we hope you will spread the word too to other folks who need this safe space. If you have questions about the forum or you would like to begin submitting questions anonymously in anticipation, please direct them to firstname.lastname@example.org. We are here to help!
