Date and TimeMonday, April 2, 2018

- Kirkhof Center » RM 2204 - Pere Marquette
Alex Jenny will be delivering a keynote presentation to kick off Sexual Assault Awareness Week and Sexual Assault Awareness and Prevention Month. Alex Jenny is an alien femme dedicated to healing through art and radical love. Inspired by Kim Katrin Milan's message, "Our most radical work is to love ourselves," Alex works to uplift the ways radical (self)-love can transform communities, interrupt systems of oppression, and facilitate healing. They are always asking themselves, "What does it mean to heal from our traumas not just individually but collectively?" Alex's work, art, and public speaking centers the healing of queer and trans people of color, celebrates femme magic and gender potentiality, and disrupts structural violence in hopes of helping their communities not just survive, but thrive. By day, they work as a therapist and social worker, specializing in trauma recovery, at a private practice dedicated to serving LGBTQ communities. Off the clock, they create art through modeling, fashion, and writing with their wife, Effee Nelly, in order to create representations of queer and trans love.
