Intro to Indoor Rock Climbing (Canceled)
Date and TimeSunday, September 15, 2019
6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.
- Field House » 170C - Climbing Center
This is a very hands-on and interactive workshop for GVSU students and staff who would like a more formal and private introduction to the equipment and techniques involved in indoor rock climbing. Our goal is to transform participants from a point of not knowing what they don't know about climbing to being able to independently gear up for a climb, plan an appropriate path, and efficiently move through it. By the end of the workshop, participants should be confident in their ability to competently utilize the necessary protective equipment and safety protocol for climbing in our facility and similar environments. Topics will include: types of climbing, basic equipment, belaying, & fundamentals of efficient movement.
This workshop has a 3-day format that meets once a week for 3 consecutive weeks, 2 hours each week. The 3 dates are Sundays: September 15, 22, & 29
No previous knowledge or equipment is necessary. Equipment will be provided to participants as-needed.
Can't make this session? We have another session scheduled to start Wednesday, October 30th.
