Intro to Ice Climbing
Date and TimeWednesday, January 24, 2018
6:00 PM - 8:00 PM
- Field House » 170C - Climbing Center
A perfect workshop for anyone who wants to learn about the basics of ice climbing or hopes to attend the ice climbing trip in February. Participants will learn about the basic equipment, how to properly dress for a climb, the significance of some different types of ice, & basic technique for climbing ice efficiently. We'll start with an informal discussion in a classroom setting and follow it up with hands-on practice at the Climbing Center.
No experience is necessary but knowledge of how to tie a double figure-8 and belay with a tubular style device is beneficial.
Please RSVP at least 48 hours in advance so we may adequately prepare for the event.
