GVSU's 3rd Annual 3-Minute Thesis Competition

The 3MT™ Competition provides graduate students with a unique opportunity to share their research with the GVSU community in a competitive format. Student participants are required to present their research in just 3 minutes with the aid of a single, static slide.
In order to compete, students were asked to submit a synopsis of their research as well as a faculty letter of support which were then reviewed by The Graduate School. This year, eighteen students have been selected to participate in the 2018 competition from the following programs: Biomedical Sciences, Cell and Molecular Biology, College Student Affairs Leadership, Criminal Justice, Biology/AWRI, Doctor of Nursing Practice, Engineering, Public Health, and Social Work.
Students will present their 3-Minute Thesis to a panel of judges representing a variety of the GVSU colleges. The winner of GVSU’s 3MT™ receives a $500 cash prize as well as full funding to represent GVSU at the Midwest Association of Graduate Schools (MAGS) 3MT™ Competition in Grand Rapids in April 2018.
Students, faculty, family members and community members are invited to attend the 3MT™ Competition on Thursday, February 15 at 3:30 pm in the Charles W. Loosemore auditorium, Awards for first, second and third place as well as a People’s Choice award, voted on by the audience, will be presented.
