CHILLAN, CHILE -- Follow the journey of revolutionary leader Che Guevara through Latin America in his memoir, The Motorcycle Diaries. Through field trips and discussion, students will explore the question: “What does it mean to be American?" Students will explore the city of Chillán, Chile, with its vibrant central square and vast open-air market, and connect with students from GVSU's partner university, Universidad del Bío-Bío. The group will take a trip to the Andes Mountains, where students will have a chance to relax in a hot springs, hike to some incredible views of the Andes, and experience the kind of Chilean hospitality that Che Guevara described during his time in the mountains.
