The Mosaic Lecture series celebrates the contributions of diverse groups to the mathematical sciences. This year's lecture will be presented by Dr. Robert Megginson, Alfred F. Thurnau Professor at University of Michigan. His talk on Native American Mathematics will be accessible to general audiences and will explore historical and cultural issues related to Native American number systems and counting techniques. A dessert reception will follow the lecture.
Co-sponsored by the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, the Frederik Meijer Honors College, and the Department of Liberal Studies.
