Her teaching interests include mathematical modeling, digital signal and image processing, and linear and non-linear time-frequency methods.
Dr Rhodes has a BE in Electrical Engineering from the University of Pune, India, and earned her MS and PhD degrees in Biomedical Engineering from Marquette University. She has just finished a 3 year postdoctoral fellowship at the Medical College of Wisconsin where she studied the effects of age on cardiac function.
Dr Rhodes has various research interests including heart rate variability and cardiac arrhythmogenesis, mitochondrial bioenergetics, and cardioprotection against ischemia-reperfusion injury. She currently has a 4-year grant from the American Heart Association to study the development of lethal cardiac arrhythmias. She has an adjunct appointment in the Dept of Anesthesiology at the MCW where she continues her research collaboration.
