To slow the spread of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) into the United States, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has implemented after-travel health precautions.  If you have traveled to an area identified by the CDC as a Warning Level 3, you should self-quarantine and monitor your health.  Depending on your travel history, you will be asked to stay home for a period of 14 days from the time you left the area with widespread or ongoing community spread.

Travel to Other Areas

As of March 11, 2020, The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has NOT implemented after-travel health precautions for travel outside of areas affected by COVID-19.

If you are returning from domestic or international travel in an area affected by COVID-19, you are not required to, but may chose to self-monitor for the development of any symptoms. Contact your healthcare provider if you develop a fever or respiratory symptoms. According to what is currently known, symptoms can appear 2 - 14 days after exposure.

Symptoms are flu-like (mild to serious) and include:

  • Fever
  • Cough
  • Shortness of breath

Self-monitor for fever by checking your temperature twice a day.

Some people choose to limit their contacts and stay away from public areas until they are outside of a 14 day incubation period to assure themselves they will not make someone else ill.
