Guided Reading & Independent Workstations

Description
In this workshop, teachers are introduced to guided reading, given the opportunity to see it in action and then allowed to take the information and apply it to their teaching. Teachers will be given the tools to "become their own reading specialist". In the afternoon participants will get a clear understanding of what components go into developing independent (center) workstations. Stations will align to Common Core Standards and/or NWEA Learning Continuum Goals. Participants will review a checklist for developing center activities. Work time will be factored into the day so attendees can develop center activities for their classrooms.
