Educate and bring awareness to our campus and the surrounding community, the Center for Women and Gender Equity offers many opportunities to attend programs related to gender justice on an annual basis.

October is Dating and Domestic Violence Awareness Month. In recognition, the GVSU Center for Women and Gender Equity, in collaboration with other campus departments and community organizations, hosts a number of events to raise awareness about this important issue.

The Girls of Color Summit is an initiative at GVSU that benefits girls of color in the local community. Participants are invited to explore and discuss issues that impact the experience of girls of color.

Join the Gayle R. Davis Center for Women and Gender Equity, which creates meaningful learning about women and gender justice through education, engagement, and empowerment of students and the greater GVSU community as well as activist, faculty, staff, students, and community members for the celebration of a centuries-old tradition of combining tea parties with discussion of literature, politics, and reform. There will be entertainment, scrumptious food, and an opportunity to support the Center for Women and Gender Equity in our efforts.

In partnership with the Women's Commission, Fireside Chats provide a safe environment for diverse women from across campus to engage in dialogue about gender-related topics while also getting to know each other and building relationships.

Look out for some engaging events coming soon this academic year!

The GVSU Center for Women and Gender Equity annually collaborates with the West Michigan Environmental Action Council (WMEAC) to host a Women & Environment Symposium to explore the intersection between women's issues and environmental concerns.

The month of March is Women's History Month. Each year, the Center for Women and Gender Equity partners with Women & Gender Studies to offer dynamic events and programs.
