CWGE SOCIAL JUSTICE ENGAGEMENT LEADERS
CWGE Social Justice Engagement Leaders
The Social Justice Engagement Leaders program builds a connection to students who want to further the mission of the Center for Women and Gender Equity as well as their own leadership and engagement.
The Center for Women and Gender Equity Social Justice Engagement Leaders program educates and energizes student leaders who are passionate about social justice, activism, and community engagement.
We are looking to connect with different social justice backgrounds, and diverse, underrepresented backgrounds— whether you are new to volunteering in your community, or have years of activist experience. Our biweekly meetings will be themed around topics that you and your peers are passionate about.
Community Engagement Days
Social Justice Engagement Leaders provides opportunities to engage with the community and think through the complexity of activism and justice.
The CWGE sees the local, state and global community as valued partners in providing educational opportunities for our learners. Much as we engage with cross-divisional stakeholders we connect with diverse community partners.
Social Justice Engagement Leaders can expect to take part in days of community engagement.
The Social Justice Engagement Leaders program utilizes course sequencing to provide a pre-engagement education component, a reciprocal service learning experience, and post-engagement reflection.
Students are a valued and important part of the Grand Valley State University Center for Women and Gender Equity. Therefore, the Social Justice Engagement Leaders program was created to build a connection to students who want to further the mission of the Center for Women and Gender Equity as well as their own leadership.
The Center for Women and Gender Equity Social Justice Engagement Leader program offers students who are interested in exploring leadership through service, activism, and discussion. The Social Justice Engagement Leader program is based on a Feminist Leadership for Social Change curriculum with the goal of empowering leaders through activism and community engagement!
