Our Laker Community

GVSU's public charter schools are viewed as an extension of the university's mission to use public education as a catalyst for individual and societal enrichment. To ensure our work remains aligned with this mission, we collaborate with colleagues from a wide variety of GVSU departments and organizations to help our charter students, teachers, administrators, board members, and parents move toward new levels of success. We believe the support we offer our charter school communities is strengthened through our connections with GVSU faculty, staff and students who have a passion for helping others learn and grow. These relationships spark innovation and drive results, creating a force for positive change in K-12 education throughout Michigan.

Who We Work Alongside

The list below details the various GVSU entities that we collaborate with to improve teaching and learning in our charter schools. Many of the colleagues on this list assist us with student development and our programs that bring thousands of charter school students to campus each year. Others in this list provide professional development support and unique opportunities for the teachers, administrators, and board members that serve our schools. Additionally, we've included all groups that help us improve our internal work and make sure we continue to set the standard for higher education institutions that authorize charter schools.
