Wings for Kids seeking partnership to Detroit charter schools
May 02, 2021
Wings for Kids is looking for 10-12 charter elementary schools in Detroit to partner with to offer social emotional programming for students. The national program provides access to social emotional learning (SEL) techniques, training, lessons, and activities to schools that partner with Wings for Kids, all for no cost.
The goal of the partnership is to increase elementary school teacher readiness and capacity to deliver high-quality SEL to students. Through social emotional learning (SEL), children develop skills such as stress management, problem solving, and resisting negative pressure. This prepares them to be resilient during uncertain times, to form healthy relationships, to build academic focus and engagement, and eventually to excel in the workforce.
