Virtual Campus QPR

Hey, Lakers!  COVID-19 has taken a physical and emotional toll on many across our country, and across the globe.  We know that some members of our community may be struggling with their mental health as they face uncertainty and change, or may know someone who is.  Join the University Counseling Center for a virtual QPR Suicide Prevention Training event via Blackboard.  Even as we socially distance, we also have an extraordinary opportunity to come together to save lives and reduce the stigma that surrounds mental health.  Help us help each other.

What is QPR?

QPR stands for Question, Persuade, and Refer — the 3 simple steps anyone can learn to help save a life from suicide.

Just as people trained in CPR and the Heimlich Maneuver help save thousands of lives each year, people trained in QPR learn how to recognize the warning signs of a suicide crisis and how to question, persuade, and refer someone to help.
