The purpose of this project is to support the Baxter gardening program and determine the impact of this program on food access or acquisition on the Baxter community. 

Benefits for the students:
The students benefit from this project by increasing their knowledge on food access through bi-weekly literature reviews, increasing their knowledge on research techniques, and by gaining experience in conducting nutrition education events in the community.

Benefits for the community:
The community benefits from this project by having access to a gardening program that expands each year, providing an increased access to vegetables. In addition, community members are provided with educational classes on how to garden, compost and preserve foods.
