Each year, GVSU Education Program students receive substantial financial support through scholarships reserved for students pursuing a career in the field of education.
- During the 2020-2021 school year, 23 students received Education Program scholarships - a total of $43,950
- During the 2019-2020 school year, 30 students received Education Program scholarships - a total of $42,700

Candidates in both initial certification and graduate programs are eligible to apply. These scholarship opportunities are made possible by the generosity of individuals and organizations dedicated to the preparation of high-quality educators.
Please note that an essay is required for most Education Program scholarships. Each essay should describe how the particular scholarship will benefit you and should address the specific eligibility criteria for the scholarship.

Scholarships
- Undergraduate
In recognition of the outstanding service of Dr. Ronald W. Ward to Grand Valley State University and to the Robert B. Annis Water Resources Institute, this scholarship is established and funded by the R.B. Annis Foundation. The purpose of the scholarship is to provide educational opportunities to students for study in the sciences, engineering, math, and/or health professions at Grand Valley State University. The following guidelines are used in the administration of the Dr. Ronald W. Ward Scholarship Fund. To apply for this scholarship students must meet the following criteria:
- Must be entering as a First-year student year at GVSU or be a returning undergraduate student at GVSU.
- Must be enrolled with full-time status as a degree-seeking student.
- Must show aptitude in the sciences, engineering, math, and/or health professions and intend to major, concentrate, or specialize in one of these fields while at GVSU.
- Must have a cumulative high school grade point average of 3.0 or better (on 4.0 system) and an ACT score of at least 24 (or SAT of at least 1100).
