Master's Programs Ranked #1 in State

Intelligent.com recently presented Grand Valley State University's College of Education with two awards for Best Master’s Programs.

  • The Master of Education in Higher Education, with emphasis in Higher Education or College Student Affairs Leadership (CSAL) was recognized as one of the Best Online Master’s in Education Degree Program. The program was rated #1 in the state of Michigan and #9 in the nation. The Higher Education program is designed for students who wish to develop competencies in teaching adult students and for individuals interested in college or university institutional affairs and administration. The Higher Education (M.Ed.) program is overseen by Karyn Rabourn, Ph.D.
  • For Best Online Master's in Reading and Literacy programs, Grand Valley's Master of Education (M.Ed.) in Literacy Studies with an emphasis in Reading/Language Arts was rated #1 in the state of Michigan, and #37 nationally in a list of Top 50 online Reading and Literacy programs. The program was also presented with the Best Certification Options award, recognizing the program’s two certification options. Completers can obtain Michigan Reading or Reading Specialist certification, depending on the program emphasis. The Reading/Language Arts program is overseen by Elizabeth Stolle, Ph.D.

Intelligent.com used a subject ranking methodology that took into consideration Program Strength, Online Readiness, Return on Investment, Cost, and Student Engagement. Data collected includes insights from industry professionals, as well as interviews and surveys from current students and alumni.
