Description

Film screening: March 15, 6:00pm-9:00pm, Eberhard Center, room 215A.

BACKPACK FULL OF CASH, a documentary narrated by Matt Damon, follows the tumultuous 2013-14 school year in Philadelphia and other cities where public education – starved of resources and undermined by privatization – is at risk. The documentary also showcases a model for improving schools - a well-resourced public school system in Union City, New Jersey, where poor kids are getting a high quality education without charters or vouchers. BACKPACK FULL OF CASH makes the case for public education as a basic civil right. Film director, Sarah Mondale, will join us for this special film screening and a Q & A session directly following the film. This event, hosted by the Educational Foundations Department in the College of Education, is LIB 100/201 approved. Please RSVP your attendance: Backpack Full of Cash Film Screening.
