LAKERS TOGETHER: ‘We can’t wait to meet you.’ One constant is our passion for teaching. Watch a faculty member talk about your learning experience.
Council for Exceptional Children Grand Valley's Student Chapter is an on-campus organization devoted to providing education students with resources and opportunities to work with exceptional children. Although special education may appear to be the primary focus of the National Council for Exceptional Children, the CECS at Grand Valley has a diverse membership population that includes general education (both elementary and secondary) and special education. Our guest speakers join us from a variety of places, including GVSU, local school districts, and educational service agencies. Our bi-weekly meetings are open to everyone going into education, or for those who just love children. There is diversity in all classrooms, so whether you are elementary, special education, or high school, this is the place for you.
Join the CECS bi-weekly on Mondays at 7:00 p.m. in the Kirkhoff building. You will meet people with similar interests and goals, as well as hear from a wonderful speaker. Pizza and pop are provided and we will have College of Education apparel for sale. We look forward to seeing you there! More information on our meetings can be found on our Weebly site, http://gvcec.weebly.com/ .
