Daniel Ribbink Selected to Coach Men's & Women's Bowling

Grand Valley State University Club Sports has hired Daniel Ribbink as the next head coach for the Bowling team. Ribbink is a United States Bowling Congress Bronze-Level coach. A Norton Shores, MI native, Ribbink was also a former team captain at Cornerstone University.

In a statement, Acting Director of Recreation & Wellness Mike Przydzial said, “We are thrilled to have Coach Ribbink take on the first Head Coach position for our Bowling Club. I am confident that his leadership will develop our student-athletes in the sport of bowling and in life, and lead the team to successes they have not yet experienced.”

After attending Mona Shores High School, Daniel competed collegiately for 4 years on the Cornerstone Men’s Bowling team. While competing for Cornerstone, Ribbink was the highest placing men’s bowler at sectionals senior year and was selected for the Champions of Character Team as a sophomore for the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference awards.

Coach Ribbink shares his look on the upcoming season, “Coaching and helping others achieve their goals is incredibly fulfilling to me. The opportunity to coach GVSU and travel with the team to tournaments is something I am very excited for.”

Daniel recently completed his master’s degree in the spring and currently resides in Holland, MI with his wife, Mackenzie with their adopted pack of dogs. In his spare time, you can find Ribbink at the bowling alley, on the golf course, watching a Tigers game, or playing games with family and friends.

The GVSU bowling athletes are excited to return to competition this fall after a year of restricted competition and travel. Stay up to date at
