GVSU Library
The juvenile and young adult literature collection has over 11,000 volumes of picture books and both fiction and nonfiction books recommended for use with children and young people from preschool age through high school. It includes award winning and multicultural titles as well as books for use in the literature-based curriculum classroom on music, art, literature, history, geography and other sciences, mathematics, poetry, sports, mythology, special education, biography, and foreign languages.

Autism Education Center
The START (STatewide Autism Resources and Training) Program at the Autism Education Center at Grand Valley State University is a model of services and training for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder.

The CEC operates with 3 classrooms supported by Teaching Strategies Creative Curriculum and Gold Assessment Programs. Each classroom has a full-time lead teacher with a BA/BS in education or education related field. Our assistant teachers are all undergraduate students pursuing education or child related fields. The CEC runs a year round preschool program serving children ages 2.5 years - 5 years of age in the mornings with enrichment opportunities offered throughout the day. We also offer before and after school care for local Allendale elementary students up to age 12 with transportation provided by Allendale Public School Transportation.
Parenting
Human Resources and our Wellness program run workshops on topics such as planning for college savings, coping strategies, etc. These courses are listed on Sprout. For some parenting challenges, the resources of the Human Resources website may be of assistance.
