Karen Meyers receives AP Achievement Award

Karen Meyers, soon-to-retire director of the Regional Math & Science Center was awarded the prestigious AP Achievement Award at the AP Luncheon on April 20, 2017.

Kathy Agee, her nominator spoke of her many contributions over her 19 year career here.  She cited CLAS Dean Fred Antzcak who wrote, “Karen has given decades to the development of Michigan children and teachers. Her innovative work has opened doors for science and math instruction throughout the region, and her intellectual integrity and personal commitment has included and involved so many more students and teachers in the joys of learning.   Karen has developed several programs over her career at GVSU, including “Super Science Saturdays.” Building Science and Math Leaders, and Summer math and science camps.  And she has brought in over 2 million dollars in grant monies while here."
