CLAS faculty making news this week

The GVSU Ceramics Forum's “10 Years Towards The Dialogue” exhibition was accepted into the 2021 National Council on Education for the Ceramic Arts Virtual Conference Concurrent Exhibition. The exhibition highlights work from past and current participants of the Ceramics Forum, which was developed in 2007 by Hoon Lee, associate professor of ceramics and ceramics program coordinator, to create a public platform for students at different institutions to discuss topics in the ceramic arts.

John Weber, professor of geology, co-hosted a podcast, "The Story of the Land," for the Tippet Rise Art Center in Nye, Montana.  

Amy Russell, associate professor of biology, wrote a chapter, "Contributions of Women and Creating a Culture of Inclusivity at the North American Society for Bat Research," for a book, 50 Years of Bat Research: Foundations and New Frontiers . Russell wrote an article, "Demography and Loss of Genetic Diversity in Two Insular Populations of the Bobcat," published in the journal Global Ecology and Conservation

Sean Woznicki, assistant professor of water resources, received a contract from the Macatawa Area Coordinating Council for a project, "MACC Land Use and Cover Update," for $16,119. Woznicki gave a virtual presentation, "Sustainable Agriculture and Water Resources," for the Royal Oak High School environmental science class.
